Amniotic Membrane
Placental Tissue Allograft Membrane
Superior, Safe, and Effective
Placental extracellular matrix (ECM) contains: lamin, proteoglycans, growth factors, hyaluronic acid, and fibronectin collagens 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 all in the bioscaffold of the ECM. Together they provide an optimal environment for development of healthy, well-organized tissue; minimizing adhesions, fibrosis, and scarring.
The presence of these components may reduce inflammation, minimize risk of infection, down-regulate TGF-B, suppress pro-inflammatory interleukins, and inhibit the degradation activity of the Matrix Metalloproteinases (MMPs).
Features and Benefits of Amniotic Membrane
Anti-microbial
The presence of integrins and definsins create an environment that potentially reduces the bacterial colonization of wounds in surgical sites.
Biologic allografts are derived from dehydrated human amniotic tissue. These products are sterilized post-packaging via ebeam sterilization.
Two thicknesses
Vendaje amnion membrane is 150-300µm in thickness
Vendaje amnion membrane with chorion is 200-300µm in thickness
Simple application
Easy to apply either topically or intra-operatively
Has been shown to minimize scar, adhesions, and promote healthy tissue regeneration
Stored at room temperature with a five year shelf-life
Adheres well, no glue, or suture necessary, hydrostatic tension holds it in place
Ideal handling capabilities provided in dry format to facilitate placement, then when wet molds into place
Amniotic membranes have been used since 1910 for the treatment of burns and chronic wounds.*
